Services
The Dept. of Extension and Career Guidance may conduct career
orientation programmes and Assessment Tests for final year undergraduate and
post graduate students. These programmes vary from 2-4 days. Normally
the following topics are covered during our orientation sessions viz.,
current career options for graduates, skill based c.v. preparation,
facing stress based Interviews, skill set demands for ITES and retail
marketing,
career planning for IT graduates, aptitude tests, effective participation
in Group Discussion, motivation, creativity, counseling skills for
Placement Officers, competitive exams for undergraduates, written
and oral communication games, remedial English exercises, preparing
for
civil
service exams,
personality
and
career
choice, stress management and entrepreneurship. It also supports its
affiliated colleges to conduct model aptitude tests for MBAs and MCAs.
Occasionally the Dept. accepts invitations from other Universities
and colleges and arrange these programmes. The Dept. requires minimum
of
two weeks notice to conduct such programmes. Specific career guidance
programmes are also conducted for the Placement Officers of the affiliated
colleges twice in a year. Organising large scale career fairs is
our regular feature. Colleges interested to arrange such fairs can
contact
us for
technical
assistance. Requests in this regard may be sent to the Department.
E-Learning Centre
E-Learning Centre has been
established to produce and launch training programmes for Placement Officers in higher education institutions. The Department has already established professional contacts with LMS Companies, CEC-New Delhi and content creation companies and conducted four E-learning workshops. Teachers interested to obtain training in instructional technology designs, use of LMS, content creation, on-line testing may contact the Department of Extension and Career Guidance.
