Eligibility:

Ø     All the final year UG students of the following subjects / courses (regular colleges only)

Ø     B.Com (all streams), BBM (all streams), BCA, B.Sc. and B.A.(all subjects)

Ø     M.A. (All subjects),  M.Com

Ø     M.Sc., M.Phil (Statistics, Maths and Applied Maths only)

Ø     Only students from the University - University departments and affiliated colleges

Ø     Students enlisted by the colleges alone are eligible to attend the interview

Ø     Not more than two years of gap in education

Ø     willing to relocate to any TCS location in India

The details submitted by the colleges will be forwarded to the TCS HR Team for approval. Please note M.Sc. (Computer Science), M.C.A and MBA are not eligible to attend this drive.

There is no fee to attend the Placement drive. Students/Colleges are requested to make their own arrangements to reach the venue. The local Placement   Co-ordinator allot specific date/timing for each college or a group of colleges. If there are more than 50 students in a College the Placement Officer should accompany the students. All the students should bring their ID Cards.

The Process includes Aptitude test for 40-50 mts. (Paper Pencil test), Group Discussion Technical and H.R. rounds. Since we expect huge number of students for each day, a detailed planning is essential with Placement Officers.

Finishing School is a Sector–specific, Company-specific, technology-specific and tool-specific training programme for passing out undergraduate students to minimize the training cycle of the employers. Normally it is run for a period of 100-150 hours spread over to two months before the companies conduct campus placements. The training includes aptitude coaching in mathematical abilities, logical reasoning, mental application and English language usage. The training contents and methods of coaching are validated by the potential employers. The University has already prepared a set of aptitude materials for circulation.

The University Grants Commission (New Delhi), during XI Plan period has encouraged the Universities to support the colleges by coaching the faculty and students by conducting training programmes. Accordingly, the department of Extension and Career Guidance will be conducting a Master Trainers Training Programme for three days from 20-22 of this month at the University Campus (Venue:  Department of Extension, Library Building,  First Floor).  After the   training, the faculty members will train their final year U.G. students.     Hence it is requested to depute one faculty from each of the following departments: i) Mathematics ii) Computer Science  iii) Commerce or Business Management and iv) English. It is proposed to train at least sixty teachers in each subject in the first instance. The deputed teachers will be paid actual bus fare (both ways one time) and provided with working lunch. The teachers should attend all the three days training.

The M.T.s will be given a set of materials for coaching their students. After the training the teachers are expected to coach their final year U.G. students as per the schedule given by the University. The data base of the trained students will be sent to potential employers for campus placement. A Registration form is enclosed and it may be sent before 14^th of July 2010 to the undersigned.

The University has also proposed to conduct a Students Peer Team Leaders Programme for Aptitude Coaching during the last week of July 2010 for three days. This will be a residential programme. Kindly depute six final year U.G. students to attend the programme. The deputed students should have interest and aptitude to coach the remaining students, out of the six students two should be from i) Maths or Maths (C.A.) or Statistics ii) Two from Computer Science or Computer Technology and iii) Two from Business Management or Commerce. If Maths students are not available Computer Science students with strong Maths background may be deputed.

The project is for a period of six months from the date of operation. Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the following temporary project positions for a period of six months.
